PUNE: Cases of cervical spondylosis among young adults aged 30-45 have surged by approximately 20%, warns Dr. Mohit Mutta, Spine Surgeon at Apollo Spectra, Pune. He attributes this alarming rise to prolonged sitting, poor posture, and lack of movement, which put excessive strain on the spine.
"Daily, 5 out of 10 people report neck pain and muscle stiffness due to poor posture," said Dr. Mutta. "To prevent this, regular stretching, exercise, ergonomic adjustments, and frequent breaks are essential. In severe cases, medical interventions may be required."
With sedentary habits increasing, experts urge early intervention and lifestyle modifications to safeguard spinal health.
